A Journey from Castrol House in Marylebone Road London, to the City of Bath in a MKII Jaguar in 1963. Advanced motorist George Eyles takes us through London, out over the Hammersmith Flyover (an area which has really changed a lot) and follows the A4 West onto Reading and a newly built section of the M4. Later he passes through Newbury, Hungerford, Chippenham, Malborough, Calne, and ends at Bath. It is fascinating to see how all these towns and roads looked back then.

I have previously posted a 16mm film projected version of this here:    • London to Bath in a MK II Jaguar in 1...

However, I thought it worth recapturing this in a digital scanner (2k-ish capture, 2048*1536). God knows what it is after YT processing, but this version does seem a little clearer. Thanks to the Youtubers that kindly offered their opinions regarding the quality of this capture. The digital scan seems to provide more detail, but at the expense of the range of colour and tone (these are crushed a little). But, there is no harm in having an alternative.

No credits appear in the film other than to George Eyles and Castrol.
