Masjid Abu Bakr Madina | Ziyrat near Masjid Nabwai | Saudi arabia | مسجد أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه

One of the most prominent historical and archaeological mosques of the city is the Abu Bakr Mosque. It was there that the Prophet ﷺ prayed the Eid prayer and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq God's pleasure be upon him after him. Thus, the mosque bore his name. In the reign of Abu Bakr, Muslims gathered for Eid prayer even though the mosque had not yet been built.

The mosque of Abu Bakr was built during the reign of Caliphate Umar bin Abdul Aziz God's pleasure be upon him and the Ottoman Sultan Mahmoud the Second renewed it afterwards in 1254 Hijri. The mosque was later restored considering the Ottoman character found on it. It has a square shape, an area not exceeding 80 m2 and is painted black outside and white inside. The mosque is located southwest of the Prophet's Mosque and is separated from Al-Ghamama Mosque by the main road.
