Chewy Sicilian Cookies Full of Natural Almond Flavor (Gluten-Free)

Ingredients:
250g almond flour
180g granulated sugar
80g of egg whites (the whites of 2-3 eggs depending on the size)
1 orange or lemon zest
2tbsp amaretto
Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 356FΒ°(180CΒ°)

In a large bowl combine sugar and orange zest and mix until the zest is fully incorporated. Then add almond flour, egg whites, amaretto and stir until combined.

Shape the dough into small balls and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. You can decorate each cookie with an almond.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden. Note that the color of the cookies won't change much, be careful not to overbake.

Allow to cool before serving and enjoy!
