The Wagon Warrior by Howard Croston is one of the best stillwater trout flies out there. It's a zonker style pattern, which is a well well known platform for stillwater flies. However, this pattern is dressed on a jig hook with a drop bead. This allows it to ride upside down in the water, which reduces the number of snags you will encounter with it. It's tied in white, black and olive, which are three of the most effective colors for stillwater trout fishing.
