Welcome to the Ministry of Miniatures and our first Bolt Action Third Edition Battle Report: This time we head back to Normandy as play an historic scenario. Based on operation Cobra.

It’s July 28th 1944, the American Army under General Patton have cut through the German lines at St Lo and are heading south towards Coutances. The Germans fall back and try to delay the allied advance at Cambernon, a small village just north of Coutances, Normandy, France.

The attack is led by the 16th US infantry Division 2nd Battalion with the defenders from the 2nd SS Division. The Americans have pushed forward a veteran Rangers contingent with armoured support to clear the way for the main advance.

We play an adapted scenario bases on Point Defence on page 178 of the new 3rd Edition rules.

Rick fields his awesome 1000pts german Waffen SS force consisting of an infantry platoon, armoured platoon, heavy weapons platoon and artilley platoon in a last ditch attempt to defend the village.

The American US Army has an advancing infantry platoon and is suppored by a small armoured platoon (Sherman M4 tanks)
