If you're not sure of your abilities, I suggest finding a mountain leader based in Snowdonia. There are plenty and they can show you the terrain on Tryfan.

As you can see from my footage, Tryfan is a very rugged route and it's easy to get lost, especially in low cloud.

Visit Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue's incident report page, it's a real eye-opener: https://ogwen-rescue.org.uk/incident-...

Here's the North Tower, the hardest part of the North Ridge route:    • Tryfan's North Ridge: The Most Danger...

The easiest route is widely considered to be the South Ridge, but it's still a scramble and dangers are present:    • The Easiest Route Up Tryfan in Snowdo...

Thinking of taking the Heather Terrace route? It joins the South Ridge route so you'll still need to do the steepest part of the South Ridge.

Disclaimer: This video is not formal advice, all routes on Tryfan require the use of hands to pull over rocks and obstacles. If you attempt any of the routes without a guide, you do so at your own risk.
