Doing the Gold trail Mosquito Creek option as the cock eye creek was flooded out again
Not a bad result this time considering that 4 days before this race last year I had a heart attack , Mosquito creek is the way easier option of the two , mostly gravel road with a bit of tarseal at the start going up hill for the first 25km, then its downhill untill the end of the 40km. The plan ended up being to start near the front, stay up right until the main road and put on a sprint on the first hill until I ran out of puff, and slow down to a pace I could maintain, luckily it worked , I had a good buffer by the 4km mark , and held onto the end
Months and months of training went into this, riding hills, steep as tracks and a lot of long distance riding
