For as long as I've been alive, soft ground football boots have always had removable and interchangeable metal studs. That's been the standard across all brands, and it just works. Having the option to interchange or replace the metal studs, depending on the circumstances, in my opinion is a very good thing. Well, Nike doesn't think so. At least not anymore.

In today's video we take a closer look at the new Blueprint pack Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite, with the Anti-Clog SG-Pro stud pattern. At a quick glance, nothing about looks abnormal. But, look a little closer, and you'll see that the metal tipped studs are fixed in place and molded to the boots, basically like an FG stud pattern. Why have they done this? Well, we discuss the pros and cons of this tech, and try to decide whether or not this is Nike pushing the boundaries of performance, or them cheating us out of options as consumers.
