Today, I tried to fix a 20V 6.75A 135W laptop switching power supply with an active PFC. This time it didn't go well. But at least, you can see what's inside. I explain how does an active PFC (Power Factor Correction) and a synchronously rectified flyback work. I also show how to test a MOSFET, diodes and a bridge rectifier. I show a simplified schematic and locate the important components on the board.
